Artist Statement

This series is dedicated to the many hours spent shuffling and rearranging all the weird and wonderful contents of my bookshelf. Made up of pieces I love and hold dear to my heart, my bookshelf is home to not only books but also music, film, art and other bits and bobs I’ve collected over the years.

Every so often, I like to take down the contents of my shelves and reorganise everything. There is something very therapeutic about this process. Books I haven’t touched in years will be replaced by a new plant, a cute mug that was once collecting dust will go back into the kitchen cabinet and an old Snoopy figurine will take its place.

As time goes by, our experiences will shape the contents of our shelves. Like writing in a journal or doing the garden, organising my bookshelf is a continuing project and one that brings me great joy.
